Landmark monuments across the world, including the Eiffel Tower in France and the Sydney Harbor Bridge in Australia, have been illuminated in the colors of the rainbow flag in tribute to the victims of Sunday’s deadly shooting at an Orlando gay nightclub.
Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo tweeted on Monday: “Paris stands with Orlando.” New York’s City Hall and One World Trade Center, the Orlando Eye observation wheel, Scotland’s Parliament, and the UK’s National Theater will also be lit up with the rainbow flag in solidarity with the LGBT community. A total of 49 people were killed and more than 50 injured at the Pulse gay bar in Orlando, Florida.
