Rivers State House Of Assembly Members Meet With Gov Wike Over Laws Assent. Photos

The Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly Dabotorudima Adams today led members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to present three laws to the Governor’s for assent.
The laws assented to are: ● The Rivers State Taxes and Levies Law No: 2 of 2016.
● The Rivers State Hotel and Restaurants Consumption Law No:3 of 2016.
● The Rivers State Port Harcourt Polytecnic Law No:4 of 2016.
In his remark the Governor appreciated the Assembly for the sacrifice they have made to move the state forward. He also commended them for engendering people participation in legislation by having public hearings concerning the laws. He gave assurance that Port Harcourt Polytechnic will not kill the Beeson Kenule Polytechnic but rather would bring education closer to the people. Speaking on the need for education to be close to the people the Governor said “If the funds are available we would have a Polytecnic in each Senatorial District.”
In his speech the Speaker appreciated the Governor for delivering good governance to the people of the state.
