Nigerian Army Hands Over 348 Boko Haram Refugees To Borno Emergency Agency. Photos

The Nigerian Army has handed over 348 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) to the Executive Chairman of Borno State Emergency Management Agency, Engr Satomi. (BOSEMA) after they had been identified of belonging to the Borno State. – IDPs

The Nigerian Army had earlier handed over 348 women comprising 48 breastfeeding babies, 149 mothers, 89fathers and 62 under-aged children brought by the Nigerian Army from Damaturu IDPs camps operated by Yobe State Government from different parts Dambao local Government of Borno state. The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division of the Nigerian Army handed over the 348 IDPs to Executive Chairman Satomi at Bakkasi IDPs camp in Maiduguri on Friday 22 December 2016. The Officer explained that the Internally Displaced Persons were camped in camp operated by the Yobe State Government from Goniri Local Government. He said that they were being handed over after a screening process to ensure that they had no relationship with the terrorists group and to know the exact number of them respectively. -Data “The process ensures that those screened and handed over while participating actively or passively in creating more number of IDPs in the rate and in the camp were screened out for necessary provisions of essential needs by the State Emergency Management Agency and Honourable Member representing Dambao. Satomi according to him, those screen of the IDPs who have been found are periodically hand over to continue with their normal lives as IDPs before proceeding to Dambao same time as returnees abiding citizens to Dambao. “The overall goal is that, the just and innocent IDPs of Borno do not suffer inside and outside the State.” Satomi said that the IDPs were made up of 48 women, 149 breastfeeding, 62 under age children and 89 mothers. “The SEMA management dully have database of all of them and were accommodated at Bakkasi before their proceeding with Hon Member, Hon Habu Daja Damboa. “They re absolutely happy with the entertainment by sema and Hon Daja. Receiving them, Satomi thanked the Nigerian Army for the gesture and promised to camp, served and take them to Dambao local Government. So that they could continue with their lives and businesses at their communities…. Lastly Engr Satomi promised to provide them with food items and non food items before they proceed.
